Nokia faces great challenge in China from China-made cell phones and China replica cell phones. Last week, Nokia reveals its first deficit in ten years in its own seasonal report. 

“China-made phones are much cheaper than foreign brand.” A 24-year-old manager in Shanghai spent about $73.5 on a Lenovo mobile phone. He said the phone was the same as the foreign branded product. 

Lenovo, ZTE, Huawei and some replica cell phone manufacturers are grabbing pies with Nokia manufacturers as well as other foreign brands like Apple iPhone and RIM Blackberry. China replica cell phone providers even make their own brands, like Hiphone and Anycool.

Nokia share prices in Helsinki Stock Exchange in Finland have fallen 18%, to Euro €9.09. But ThomasJonsson, a spokesman from Nokia, emphasized: “We are still number one cell phone brand in China. And we have powerful strategy to keep improving”. 

In the third season, smart phones fell about 6% as Nokia reports its first deficit, comparing to last season. Nokia claimed that its entire market share was about 38% and would keep the same level in the fourth season. 

But some analysts doubt these numbers and said some small numbers were hard to trace. Garcha expressed: “We shouldn’t neglect the number of shipments of China electronics replica mobile phones. It is necessary to revaluate Chinese cell phone market and Nokia’s share.” 

Mediatek

Garcha said that Mediatek is eroding the losing share of Nokia. Mediatek chips have been built in Lenovo, Huawei, ZTE and many replica cellular phones. 

In the past two years, the shipment from Mediatek doubled and the total number was over 300 million. If this number was right, it showed that Nokia’s market share fell to 32% – that undoubtedly influence Nokia profit in China. 

Sophia Liang, an investor relationship manager from Mediatek expressed that Nokia only treated cell phones as chat machines and China manufacturers were keener than Nokia. “To youngsters, cell phones need to fit their apparels and school bags.” She said, “These gadgets should have right color, appearance and functionality. So personal customization is a must.”

The Samsung Pixon’s competitors
With so many features in the Pixon, you’d expect it to be a bit bulky, but not a bit of it. The pixon is just 13.8mm thin, which compares favourably with the Nokia N96 (18mm) and the Sony Ericsson idou(18.5mm), both of which will be the Pixon’s main competitors.

The Pixon is a touchscreen phone with no stylus or keys except for the usual call connect/disconnect and a cursor button. The phone’s front is dominated by a huge 3.2″ screen that can display 262,000 colours (16 million would have been better, but hey, you can’t have everything!)

The Dual Power LED Flash is the same type as that used by the N96. It’s not quite as powerful as a Xenon flash, but it doesn’t drain the battery as much either, and it’s quicker to recharge, meaning you can continue taking photos in low light after your initial snap.

Face detection, smile shot and Face Link are innovative features that help you take better pictures of people. Face detection automatically focuses on a person’s face; Smile Shot goes one better and focuses on their smile; and Face Link lets you tag a face with the person’s name, so you can search through your photos by their face and name.

The Pixon also supports a wide range of video formats, including MPEG4, WMV, DivX, and XviD, letting you watch videos no matter what format they’re encoded in (well, apart from those encoded in formats it doesn’t support!)

Unbelievably, the Pixon also comes with 5.1 Surround Sound! Not entirely sure how this works on something the size of a phone, but it certainly sounds impressive.

Samsung Pixon’s other features
There’s support for MPEG4, WMV, DivX and XviD video playback and a ‘Fast Shutter’, all of which makes the M8800 a real rival for a standalone camera apart from one detail – instead of a proper optical zoom, the camera only comes with a 16x digital zoom. And, as you know, digital zooms are rubbish compared to optical ones.

Ah right – we almost forgot – it’s a Quad Band GSM (850/900/1800/1900)/GPRS/EDGE phone too, with WCDMA 2100/HSDPA 7.2 Mbps connectivity with a built in FM Radio with RDS.

The front of the keypad-less unit is dominated by a 3.2″ 240 × 400 262K colour WQVGA TFT display, and inside lurks a music player supporting MP3, AAC, e-AAC+, e-AAC+, WMA audio formats.

For your audio pleasure, there’s SRS (Surround Sound System) Virtual 5.1CH, DNSe (Digital Natural Sound engine) with Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 for shuffling files on and off the phone. 

Samsung’s new Pixon M8800 phone camera is scheduled for a France release around the middle of October with Europe and Asia following sometime after. as for pricing, we can only offer a Gaelic shrug.

Slipping out of the new product dock mere moments ahead of the expected 3G iPhone launch is Copy cloneSamsung i900 Omnia Smartphone.

Sharing a similar design as the iPhone 3G (and the LG KE830, Prada and Clie TH55 before it), the Omnia sports a beefy-sized 3.2″ 240 x 400 pixels big screen flanked by call start/end buttons either side and a central optical mouse whotsit.

The full opera browser should look quite nice on the Omnia’s 400×200 pixel widescreen, and the 5MP autofocus camera supports features like image stabilization and Samsung’s wide dynamic range. We’re still missing specs on weight and battery life, but most of the details have been filled in at this point. In any case, take a look at the video below. The display comes in the shape of a fancypants haptic touch screen which means you get some sort of vibration feedback when your fingers go pitter-patter on the flat glass.

The phone comes in two flavours offering 8GB or 16GB of internal storage, with an SD slot letting punters boost the storage up to a decidedly healthy 16GB.

It’s not the thinnest handset in the world at 12.5mm – it’s scoffed a few more pies than the HTC Touch Diamond – but the specs seem to come up to scratch, with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support and HSDPA connectivity serving speeds up to 7.2Mbps and built in GPS letting you know where you are on this crazy ol’planet.

Samsung Unveils Omnia i900 Touchscreen Handset. The onboard camera is a healthy 5MP number packing geo–tagging as well as the unexpected bonus of image stabilisation keeping the wobblies at bay.

There’s also a built-in accelerometer, Wi-Fi, USB port, FM radio with RDS and stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), with the Omnia running on a fiddled-about version of Windows Mobile 6.1, with Samsung slapping on their TouchWiz user interface.

The i900 comes with HSDPA, 16GB internal storage, a 5-megapixel camera and runs Windows Mobile 6.1. Aside from that, we also know it has a 624MHz Marvell processor, 128MB of RAM and haptic feedback.

For the uninitiated, haptic feedback in a mobile phone is designed to make the feeling of pressing an on-screen virtual button more realistic. If you use your finger on the i900, it buzzes slightly to let you know it has registered that touch. This was very useful when we tried out the custom Samsung text input applications – making it almost like typing on a real keypad.

Like the SGH-i780, the i900 also has an optical sensor for a directional pad. This can be used in two modes — as a regular four-way directional pad or as an on-screen mouse pointer.

Though we were not able to get pictures of the custom interface, Samsung seems pretty confident that fingers will suffice when using the i900. We know this because the i900 doesn’t have a stylus slot. It still has a stylus, but this is attached to the carrying case that will be bundled with the device.

An orientation sensor is built into the i900. When rotated, it does this fancy transition whereby the display shrinks and expands back to fill the screen in a different orientation. The 240×400 display does seem a little weird, but is not unheard of – we’ve seen it in the Asus M930’s internal display. It makes sense, too, if you are to use it as a media player because the aspect ratio is much closer to the 16:9 aspect ratio commonly seen in movie files. To that end, the i900 also comes with a media application that supports DivX and Xvid out of the box.

Listed below are the key specifications of the i900. This device will be available soon, we believe. Surely Samsung will not delay it and let the HTC Touch Diamond hog the limelight. Our source suggested that it will be priced similar to the Diamond.
